" so basically, this was a flaw in manufacture regarding pin fit for fuse 27 that caused vehicle to cease power while driving and endangered passengers. Installed inline fuse holder to fuel pump wire. Read past hotline reports for bad pin fit for fuse 27 in under hood fuse panel. Customer states vehicle turns over but won't start. Here is word for word what the mechanic wrote. Had vehicle towed to crossroads Ford in cary, n. Darn lucky I wasn't involved in accident. Was able, with much difficulty, to guide the vehicle off of busy road and on to side street. While driving, the vehicle lost power completely so power steering was non-functional. They are saying that now it is the fuel pump battery junction box, another $2500 and it will take after labor day before I get my truck back because there are no parts available!!! rent a car for 2 months on top of that!!!. The light turned green, I begin my left hand turn and the truck stalled. July 9th, I was driving about 55 mph when I came to a signal light and stopped. I took it back to the shop and they could find nothing wrong. The truck drove ok for about a month, but still hesitated on starting. I work in outside sales and had to have it replaced $700. I had it towed to a local shop and was told it was the fuel pump. I was a block from my office and we pushed it back. About a week later, it stalled again this time it did not start. My truck drove fine but now and then had a hesitation to start. Eventually, I was able to start my vehicle. I was able to coast into a parking lot even though I had no power steering or brakes. Driving in 5:00 rush hour traffic and accelerating from a red light when my Ford truck entered into a "limp home" mode (wrench icon and oil lamp appeared) it stalled out. I live in a metropolitan area where there is always a high volume of traffic and losing power of a vehicle is a dangerous situation. What if my sons were with me? hope this gets resolved and a recalled is made before something worse happens to someone else. It is a safety issue when I was driving and truck shuts off in the middle of the intersection. Only reason I making a complaint is due to that comment. The shop foreman stated that they have had alot of trucks go in with the same issue. Took the truck to was bought at and after a few hours, the problem was located. Normally fuses just pop, this one just burned out to where I could not take out the fuse. After troubleshooting the issue, the fuel pump relay fuse burned out. 3rd time, the truck was parked and did not start. I was lucky enough some passing by motorist helped to push it out of the intersection. The second time, I was driving and the truck just stopped. The 1st time the engine would crank but would not fire. The truck has had this issue since I've purchased the truck but can never duplicate the issue while at the dealership.
